Fred Hutch researchers are discovering new ways to detect cancers earlier, when cure rates are highest; developing effective treatments with fewer side effects; and learning how to prevent cancers from growing in the first place.

Centre for Energy, Environment and Technology (CIEMAT)

The Centre for Energy, Environment and Technology (CIEMAT) is a Spanish public body of research centers who works closely with other national R&D bodies, institutions, universities and private sector companies to drive innovation.

The Division of Innovative Therapies within CIEMAT focuses on translational research of hematopoietic stem cells and their cell descendants to promote the development of new safe and effective cell, gene and drug therapies and to reduce the risks of allogeneic bone marrow transplantation. They perform studies towards the development of new therapies for rare diseases.

Centro de Investigacion Biomedica en Red (CIBER)

The Centers of Biomedical Research Network (CIBER) is a consortium of research centers linked to the National Health System of Spain. The purpose of CIBER is to promote research excellence in biomedicine and health sciences within the National Health System and to contribute scientific support for policies and programs of the National Health System.

CIBER research centers are designed to conduct single-topic research on a specific broadly-defined health problem or disease.

The Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria Fundación Jimenez Diaz (iiSFJD) is a multi-disciplinary multi-partner alliance promoting excellence in research, scientific and technological knowledge, as well as in-hospital teaching and training.  They are an active partner in a number of CIBER centers including CIEMAT for the study of rare diseases.
